For my final project I traveled down to the 9th street Italian Market in South Philadelphia. It was my first time visiting and it was a very col experience. If you ever visit the market you can expect to see the awning covered side walks and underneath they are filled with different vendors, shops, cafes, cheese shops, bakeries and butcher shops. It is a very old school and friendly enviorment. Most of the vendors are Italian owned and ran by families. The market is considered the social and commercial heart of the Italian community in Philadelphia. The market is open year round 9am-5pm. The market has a variety of different fruits, vegetables, meat markets, seafood, and also flowers and plants as well. Walking through the market makes it feel like you are taking a step back in time to the way markets used to be.
